"True productivity is satisfaction in a world where the work never ends. Excitement without exhaustion. Opportunity without overwhelming. To be on fire with passion and purpose, without burning out."
Grace Marshall, Productivity Ninja
Grace is known for bringing humanity to productivity, studying the work culture, and helping people define work-life success. She brings a breath of fresh air to get things done that are sustainable, purposeful, and life-altering. She has my vote for Woman of the Year!
Inspirational quotes like Grace's help me get out of my daily grindstone thinking for a chance to revise a new way of working and, more importantly, living! She articulates what I have strived for most of my working life that I didn't have the words for until recently. Living a life of satisfaction, excitement, opportunity, passion, and purpose, all while being the mother, wife, friend, and coach I want to be.
I help others explore their impact on the world to be the strengths they bring from their experiences, and help them set the boundaries and structures to work and live (reducing environmental challenges to their productivity, protecting their attention, and managing their precious energy levels are a few of the things we visit) when we work together. Clients are amazed at how a deeper understanding of their unique brains can transform their lives at work and home.
Like Grace, I discovered that many work environments are consumption-driven (longer hours are a sign of your hard work) and need to be more sustainable. I've recognized my clients' work without end, exhaustion, overwhelm, and burnout when they come to me—lost time with precious ones, not being at home worrying about work, and worrying about home when you are at work. It's a vicious cycle, for sure. But there can be another way to live.
Grace's work reminds me that each of us is a precious and limited resource that brings a unique and much-needed creative force to the world. My work is to help individuals find the underlying cause of their strengths and apply them, understand and direct their purpose and passion, and see their ability to create a sustainable way to share their work.
So, how are you using that precious resource in the world? Are you pushing it too hard physically? Are you running it into the ground by not giving it rest? What about your family? Do they get the best of you or the leftovers? Can you even glimpse how to share your gifts with the world?
Once I discovered how to use my limited resources for myself, I became mindful and intentional about what I wanted to add to the world and created structures and boundaries to protect my family and work. Then, finally, I could leave work and bring energy and generosity to my home.
Going back to Grace's quote, have you ever taken the time to imagine a place of actual productivity for you and what that looks like? See a life that includes self-satisfaction, bright-eyed excitement, readiness for an opportunity, and a fire of passion and purpose without burnout? Can you see a life of productivity at work and freedom to enjoy your family and friends? A life that allows you to shine into the world your unique light? I'd love to hear about what excites you the most about this vision of being productive! So please respond to this message in my contact form below and tell me more, friend.

~ especially those of us who can be a little off-center trying to function and find fulfillment in the mainstream world. This world values efficiency and productivity, which can require productivity techniques and hacks that some of us find
too mundane and soul-crushing, if not impossible to follow.
For me, I've found I can't follow mainstream productivity tools and hacks. I've had to learn to drive my brain, use its quirks and creativity to feel seen, make contributions to the world, and enjoy both work and home.
I like working with smart people who are ready to dump conventional productivity techniques to learn their true personal productivity by understanding how to drive their brains and discover their unique strengths to redesign their days with systems that complement them.
Let's start exploring together!
